About this issue
Penthouse volume 9, number 2, catalogued as a 1974 issue. Its volume number places it in the original London-based edition that Bob Guccione started in 1965, years before the better-known American Penthouse.
About the magazine
Penthouse first appeared in London in March 1965 as a bolder rival to Playboy, founded by the American-born publisher and artist Bob Guccione. It remained a British magazine until September 1969, when Guccione launched an American edition that soon became his flagship. From 1972 the magazine carried ‘Call Me Madam’, the advice column of Xaviera Hollander, author of The Happy Hooker.
In this issue
According to our record of this copy, the issue includes an interview with Honeysuckle Divine; photography by Jeff Dunas, Derek Burton, Hans Larsson; and Xaviera Hollander’s ‘Call Me Madam’ advice column.
